Mou Mou passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday 12th July 1999. I picked him up from the street. I cannot remember which year, but it must be either 1985 or 1986 because it was shortly after I returned to Hong Kong from England. He must be less than a month old at the time because he was so so tiny.

His death was quite sudden to our family because he was well, or at least not seen to be unwell, until about a week before his death. He suffered from diabetes and his condition deteriorated quickly. He had a convulsion on Sunday which damaged his brain. We decided to end his sufferings on Monday evening. He knew what was to happen to him. Our whole family and our maid who had been taking care of him for the past 5 years were all there with him. He was very weak, still he struggled into the arms of my brother. When the vet injected the last dose, he suffered no physical pain, but I could see that he had great fear - the fear of never seeing us again. This is the most painful part with death, isn't it ?!!

He gave our whole family a lot of happiness during these 13-14 years. I hope he will find happiness in his next life, or better still, he will rest in peace and leave this painful world behind him forever and ever.
