Discovery Bay Residents' Electronic Timetable
It includes nearly all schedules of the buses, ferries and trains in and around DB!

copyright 2004-2009 Emil Chan

Notes: This Java applet (a Java program runs in an Internet browser) lists the next departures of the selected transport in and around Discovery Bay based on the current or given time and day type (ie. public holiday and day of week).

If the applet does not load automatically, please spend a few minutes to download and install the Sun Java Plug-in .  It is provided by Sun Microsystems for free.  I have used the great JCalendar package developed by Kai Toedter to build the date picker.

New version 4.00 - Sorry for keeping you guys from waiting, the new 1 May Ferry and Bus schedules are updated!

It runs again on Internet Explorer, too!    10-06-2009.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: chance of input error of this update is relatively higher because the 1 May change of schedule is a massive one.  Please drop of a note if you found and mistake.

Release history

Mobile Phone and PDA Editions: This applet was rewritten from a Java midlet (a small version of Java runs on devices with limited processing power) originally designed for the Java enabled mobile phones and PDAs.  I developed this software because I always get confused by the cryptic timetables that utilize too heavily on symbols.  On the other hand, I think there is nothing else more convenient than getting the next departure time out of the mobile phone especially when I'm on the go.

There are different ways to install the midlet version.  You may use either one of the following methods to install:

  • Download it to your PC by clicking the following link and then transfer it to your phone via data cable, infrared or Bluetooth.  Check the user's manual of your phone for details.

  • Key in the corresponding html address (say, http://home.netvigator.com/~cnemil/DBTableSE.jar) on to your Java phone's WAP browser to install it directly on to your phone if you have subscribed the GPRS or other data service provided by your operator.

  • Download to mobile via Getjar: Open wap.GetJar.com with your mobile -> Quick Download -> enter Quick Download Code 5799

  • iPhone users please download Kenneth Lo's free App, Ontime from App Store or use the online version http://db.tdw.hk/, they are cool!

Due to the fact that not all Java enabled devices behave the same when interpreting the international time zone, I have developed two editions of midlets.  If the displayed time in the midlet is wrong, please try using the other version.

General Smartphone Phone Edition (any Java enabled phone including Windows Mobile, Nokia, SE and Palm pre):
download to mobile directly: Open home.netvigator.com/~cnemil/DBTableSE.jar
or wap.getjar.com (Quick Download Code 5799) with your phone browser.

Fixed Time Zone Edition (use this version only if you found the current time displayed is wrong)
Download to mobile directly: Open home.netvigator.com/~cnemil/DBTable.jar with your phone browser.
