I am very interested in Space, anything about our planet Earth, the Solar System, the stars, the galaxy, the universe, etc.

Our Solar System consists of:
The Sun The Sun is the star at the centre of the Solar System.
Mercury Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun.  It is bare and rocky, and has no water or air.
Venus The second planet from the Sun is Venus.  It is covered with thick clouds of hot, poisonous gases.
Earth Earth is the third planet from the Sun.  It is the only planet in the Solar System that could support life.
Mars Mars looks red because its rocks are full of rusted iron.  Huge dust storms also make the sky look pink.
Jupiter Jupiter is the biggest planet in the Solar System.  It is a huge ball of liquid and gas.
Saturn Saturn is a giant ball of liquid and gas.  It is best known for the rings (consist of rock and ice) that surround it.
Uranus Uranus is the only planet in the Solar System to orbit the Sun tipped over on its side.
Neptune Neptune is an enormous ball of liquid and gas.  Some of the fastest winds in the Solar System blow across this planet's surface.
Pluto Pluto, the smallest planet, is usually the most distant planet from the Sun, but at the moment it is closer than Neptune.
Asteroid Asteroids are probably fragments of rock that were left orbiting the Sun when the Solar System was formed.
