Ford Mondeo / 褔特 Mondeo

Mondeo replaced the old Ford model Scorpio as the team member of HKP's Traffic Unit.    In 2003, VW Passat Variant joined the unit as the new generation patrol car.  May be Mondeo will be replaced by them later. 

褔特Mondeo是香港警察交通部其中一名成員, 主要是入替舊有的褔特Scorpio.  在2003香港警察引入了褔士Passat Variant 作為新一代巡邏車. 可能Mondeo的江湖地位會被替代.

Mitsubishi Pajero / 三菱 Pajero

Pajero had been chosen by HKP to replace the Land Rover.  Inside the history of Hong Kong, Land Rovers, Bedfords, English Fords were the only choice to the colonial government, because they were made in UK.  Beside Mitsubishi, HKP also chosen the Isuzu Trooper.

三菱Pajero被選擇代替長期服務於殖民地政府的Land Rover. 翻開香港歷史, 殖民地政府祇可選擇英國製造的運輸工具 如 Land Rover, Bedford, 英國福特等.  除三菱Pajero外, 香港警察也有使用五十鈴Trooper.

Mercedes Benz 310D / 平治 310D

MB 310D, the first non English made vehicle joined the HKP due to the policy of the colonial government had been changed.  It was to replace the Leyland DAF 400. The earlier version came without air-conditioner.  The police officers complained that patrol car like the steamer during the summer time.  So a "Carrier" car air-conditioner had been installed to those operation units (white body colour).  In the late 90s, the English Ford Transit replaced 310D as the new generation patrol car of course with the car A/C.

隨著政策的改變使平治310D成為服務警務處的第一批非英國製造車輛. 此車是入替利蘭DAF 400. 早期型號是沒有空調系統(冷氣). 有警員投訴警車在夏天似蒸籠一樣很難受. 所以後期型號加裝了"開利" 汽車冷氣.但祇限於行動組(白色車身). 九十年代後期轉用的福特卓志, 冷氣已是標準設備.  　

Ford Transit / 褔特 卓志

In the 70s Ford Transits were using by RHKP and other department of the government   but later replaced by Leyland DAF and Mercedes Benz 310D. In the late'90s it became the most common Transportation Tool in the SAR Government again, such as the Police, Customs, Water Works, RTHK, etc.   But in late 2002, the new Mercedes Benz 314D joined the fleet of the SAR Government.  Sooner or later, Transit will disappeared like the MB 310D and Leyland DAF 400.

Something interesting is the nickname of  70s Ford Transit called "Tai Tau Ford", in Cantonese means "Big Head Monk".

七零年代警務處和其他政府部門已使用福特卓志 但後期轉用了利蘭 DAF 400 和平治 310D.  到了九十年代後期福特卓志再次成

為香港特區政府部門最普遍使用的運輸工具如警察部, 海關, 水務局, 香港電台等.  不過二零零二新款平治314D再度成

為特區政府車輛也意味著卓志是時候退役.

有趣的是七零年代的卓志花名叫 "大頭 Ford" 音似 "大頭佛"

Volvo S70 T5, S80 T6

The purpose of HKP using the no police decal patrol cars is to give the signal to the Hong Kong Michael Schmaucher(s) that police are watching you not to over speed.    They also have the nickname called "the Invisible Patrol Car" because they just like a ordinary road car running at the highway every day. The outlaws cannot find them out easily to reduce the speed earlier.

The 1st generation IPCs are one white, one red and one blue Toyota Camrys.  The 2nd generation are one red, and one sliver Volvo S70s and also a sliver Volvo S80.   The new generation IPCs are 2 VW Passat Saloons, but so sorry that no information about the body colour.  Other police unit  like VIP Protection Unit(*G4) also use S70.  They have about 4 whites.

HKP also considered to use Volvo V70 T5 as the new generation IPCs but finally they had chosen the VW Passat Saloon.

 *G4 - When Hong Kong was the colony of UK, VIP Protection unit was under a RHKP secret division called "Special Branch".   4 groups were under this division. They gave the short name G4 to VIPPU  because this unit is the 4th group of the SB.

為制止司機在高速公路上飆車,  香港警察決定使用一些沒有警察標誌的巡邏車巡邏公路以收阻嚇之用. 因為他們好像隱了形一樣, 所以人們給他們 "隱形戰車" 這個外號. 第一代隱形戰車是一白一紅和一藍豐田Camry, 第二代是一銀一紅富豪S70和一輛銀色富豪S80. 最新一代是二輛福士Passat房車, 但很抱歉未有車身顏色資料.  除交通部外, 要人保護組 *(G4) 也有大約四輛白色的S70.

警務處本來想採用富豪V70 T5 作為新一代隱形戰車, 但最後選用了福士Passat Saloon.

*G4 - 在香港未回歸中國前, 要人保護組隸屬於皇家香港警察隊壹個神秘部門-"政治部". 該部門共分四組, 而要人保護組屬於笫四組, 所以被稱為G4.

Mercedes Benz 314D / 平治 314D　

*EU(Emergency Unit) - The front-line of the police force. Each group of 4 officers leading by a sergeant on patrol in a large area with the help of the patrol car.   They are also the first group of officers arrived the crime scene.   They equipped with the H&K MP5 sub-machine gun & Remington M870 shotgun.   For the safety reason, the MP5 being used by EU had been modified to shot single shoot each time.

在二零零二年未香港警隊轉用了新平治314D. 根據以往慣例衝鋒隊是警隊第一個轉用新車的隊伍. 314D是用來替代當時正在使用的福特卓志.  

*EU(衝鋒隊) - 警隊的前線,每隊由一名警長帶領著四名警員組成.利用巡邏車的優勢巡邏較大的範圍. 因此他們也是第一隊警務人員到達罪案現場.  每隊衝鋒隊佩備了H&K MP5和雷鳴登散彈槍.  基於安全理由,衝鋒隊佩用的MP5已改裝為祇可單發.

Volkswagen Passat / 福士 Passat

二零零三年, 警務處交通組選用了福士Passat Variant和Saloon. Variant用作普通巡邏車,Saloon則用作新一代隱形戰車.

BMW R850RT / 寶馬 R850RT

In 2001, Hong Kong Police started using the BMW bikes to replace the Honda CBX750.   Like the CBX750, they are using by the regional headquarters.  

二零零一年開始警隊轉用了寶馬R850RT來代替本田CBX750分派各總區使用.

Leyland DAF 400 / 利蘭 DAF 400

*"Sheung Mun"-  In Cantonese means "Mount the Door". The rear door always dropped out from the car when officer trying to open it. officer need to re-mount the door to the car again.   

利蘭DAF400在八十年代為殖民地政府主要運輸工具. 是第一批掃上白色車身和紅間條的警車. 直至一九九六年始被平治310D所取代.  DAF400有個外號叫做 *"鑲門"

*"鑲門" - 傳聞每次警員趟開車中門時, 門都會從車上掉下, 警員需要再次把門瓖回車上.
