Click here to see (& download) a user's manual for the DCC900 (1.15 MB, Adobe .pdf format). Note that the actual user's manual is in many different languages, but I have only scanned the English part for this file.

Below is an exploded view of the DCC900 (click on the picture for a larger view):

To put the DCC900 into service mode, first ensure that there is a DCC tape in the DCC900. Service mode can be entered without a DCC tape in the recorder, but in order to view or display values, there must be a DCC tape in the recorder when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, at which time PLAY should be pressed. At this time the values can be viewed/changed.

After inserting a DCC tape, do the following:

  • turn the power off.

  • Press and hold the PLAY and STOP buttons together, then turn the power on.

  • The DCC900's front display panel will scroll SERVICE MODE

  • Next, see the row in the table below for "0". The DCC900 will proceed to display the scrolling list of characters as shown.

  • To change to each row as shown, press the TIME key.

  • To view/change values (such as to change the eye channel), press PLAY when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, then view/change as required.

  • To exit service mode, press the COUNTER RESET key.
