The major components of the DCC900 as seen
when the cover is removed:

Note that the actual user's manual is in many different languages, but I have
only scanned the English part for this file.
Below is an exploded view of the DCC900
(click on the picture for a larger view):

To put the DCC900 into service mode,
first ensure that there is a DCC tape in the DCC900. Service mode can be entered
without a DCC tape in the recorder, but in order to view or display values,
there must be a DCC tape in the recorder when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, at
which time PLAY should be pressed. At this time the values can be
viewed/changed.
After inserting a DCC tape, do the
following:
-
turn the power off.
-
Press and hold the PLAY and STOP
buttons together, then turn the power on.

The DCC900's front display panel
will scroll SERVICE MODE
-
Next, see the row in the table below
for "0". The DCC900 will proceed to display the scrolling list of
characters as shown.

To change to each row as shown,
press the TIME key.
-
To view/change values (such as to
change the eye channel), press PLAY when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, then
view/change as required.
-
To exit service mode, press the
COUNTER RESET key.

To put the DCC900 into factory mode,
first ensure that there is a DCC tape in the DCC900. Factory mode can be entered
without a DCC tape in the recorder, but in order to view or display values,
there must be a DCC tape in the recorder when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, at
which time PLAY should be pressed. At this time the values can be
viewed/changed.
After inserting a DCC tape, do the
following:
-
turn the power off.
-
Press and hold the STOP and REWIND
buttons together, then turn the power on.
-
The DCC900's front display panel
will scroll FACTORY MODE
-
Next, see the row in the table below
for "0". The DCC900 will proceed to display the scrolling list of
characters as shown.

To change to each row as shown,
press the TIME key.
-
To view/change values (such as to
change the eye channel), press PLAY when GO PLAY MODE is displayed, then
view/change as required.
-
To exit factory mode, press the
COUNTER RESET key.
