It contains spoilers; you are strongly recommended to stop reading now unless you have at least finished all the preceding scenarios (Gradriel, Edward, Portgus, Proserpina). The Last Story can be accessed after clearing all the preceding scenarios. Pick up the orange-brown book and bring it to the girl's grandmother. - Synopsis - Last Story The Last Story takes place after the conclusion of Gradriel's scenario. After the defeat of Larva, peace has come to the land. It is now time to revive Gaia, the Goddess of Light. With 3 Magic Gems needed for Gaia's revival in hand, Haindel sets off to visit Gradriel, who will be determining the fate of man. Haindel takes Gradriel to the Temple of the Goddess. He tells a story: 1000 years ago, Larva tried to usurp the world from Gaia's reign. He made Volgrod his general, and their forces were strong. Gaia used all her power to seal Volgrod and the demonic realm with chains. However, this exhausted her and caused her to vanish. Before she vanished, she sealed herself in 4 Magic Gems, in preparation for her future revival. The Magic Gems were animated as dragons to protect the world from the forces of darkness. The dragons with the Magic Gems of Earth and Sea had died in the course of 1000 years. The dragon with the Magic Gem of Sun had been overtaken by evil, and was slain by Edward. The last Magic Gem is in Haindel's body. When Gaia is revived, Haindel will vanish, his purpose fulfilled. However, Haindel has lived for too long, and doesn't want to die! Gradriel, as the representative of man, will have to defeat and kill Haindel in order to revive Gaia. Gradriel defeats Haindel. Gaia appears and explains that Haindel has not really "died", but rather he has just returned to his original form, as Gaia: Haindel is the manifestation of Gaia's knowledge. Gradriel promises Gaia that she will work with her friends to make a world of happiness. Happy ending. The story books have been written by Tabasa (the girl in Nutsbill who was kidnapped by Proserpina), who is the great-grandmother of the little girl in the start-up screen. She wrote the books after hearing the stories from the fairies. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Special thanks to A1 Lee (ala Alamone) for providing this tip. After completing all the scenarios, you can take any character to the teleporter in the magic area of Cadho Badho and press X+Y+Z to enter the enemy parade mode. You'll fight all the enemies in the game in turn (except for the larva and Haindel). You can do this with any of the player characters. Be aware that the fights may total over a couple of hours. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please send questions and comments by e-mail to me (Alan) at: mailto:tarot@netvigator.com This document should not be reproduced and distributed publicly on print, in Usenet, or in another homepage.
